The George Inn

The George Inn
Someday we’ll talk about Bath, one of my favorite cities in England, but today we’ll be on the way to it, also in the SW English, particularly in the small village of Norton St. Philip, to visit one of the sales that have the privilege be the first lodges of walkers, with almost seven hundred years old. Its name “The George Inn,” and originated the annual wool fair is held annually in the town since the thirteenth century until 1902.

As stated on the website of the inn the first document you have written proof of your current name dates from 1595. Another manuscript a little late to the time talking and thirty-five beds and a capacity for ninety horse stables. St. George became popular at the turn of the Crusades and has given names to many taverns and inns how are you, but none is more famous in England that Norton St. Philip, the proof is that today are no floats, no proceedings or the horses who come to see, but plenty of buses of Japanese tourists and Spanish who come with their cameras to immortalize and stroll through the streets and lawns of this beautiful place.

Although the village of Norton declined over time, “The George” as a stop followed the carriages bound for Bath. Today has been restored and have been preserved and repaired paintings of past centuries has also been used as a setting for films such as The Canterbury Tales or some historic British TV series.

In short it is a recommended day trips from London and can be done comfortably in a day. In fact the site still has a practical purpose today what some call a “charming historic hotel.” Its eight habitanciones have names that recall the past: 1.Abbots; 2.Coombs; 3.Carthusian; 4.Coachroom; 5.Sedgemoor; 6.Monmouth, 7. King Charles, and 8.Samuel Pepys. The price is between ninety and one hundred ten pounds, so if you want to paste the whim of sleep can not be considered excessive, but obviously no longer has the charm of times past.
